7/25/09: American Juniors Completely Uncompetitive Versus Bohemians, Finish Twelth In FIVB Tourney

Didn't the American women win silver in the Olympics? The U-20's sucked a big fat one against the Czech Republic Saturday in Tijuana, getting swept 13-13-16. The match lasted 67 minutes in all. Just a bad effort all around; just look at the stats.

7/24/09: U.S. Women's Junior National Team U-20's Loses To China, 3-0

Sorry I haven't written anything yet, but I finally found an event related to women's college volleyball: The U-20's got swept by China. Worse yet, this is a match in what appears to be a consolation bracket. In a 16-team tournament, the Americans play the Czech Republic later today (Saturday) for 11th place. Yippee.

This article runs down all the games in the tournament played yesterday (Friday), but here's the part recounting the Americans' loss:

In Tijuana, Cuba defeated Czech Republic 26-24, 25-16, 14-25, 25-19 and will meet China, winners 26-24, 25-11, 25-18 over USA, in the match for the ninth position. The losing sides are to play for the eleventh spot.

Li Weiwei paced China with 14 points and Liu Xiaotong and Sun Mingjian contributed 12 and 11 respectively. Alexandra Hunt paced USA with a match-high 15 tallies and Alexis Olgard added 12.

Hunt is going to be a sophomore for Michigan.

First Off, About Me ... And A Manifesto

I write this because I love women's college volleyball and I don't think there is a good site that one can go to on all the latest news and scores. That's what I hope to do here. Welcome.
